Dennis Howard is a former software engineer, who recently joined the Fundraising U team in the Spring of 2020. He had no sales experience at all and is currently a highlighted franchise owner in the Nashville area. Here’s what he had to say about his experience with Fundraising University, “My name is Dennis Howard and I am a Fundraising University franchise owner in the Nashville, Tennessee area. I bought into Fundraising University in the Spring in 2020. At the start of the pandemic, with no clue about how serious or drawn-out that would end up being. I have to say, it’s definitely impacted business. With distance learning, canceled sporting events, and other school restrictions in place. But I also think that once we get back to normal, in the next year or two, there’s going to be a boom as the need for fundraising gets higher and higher. A lot of these teams haven’t been able to run their camps or other fundraisers and the gate receipts have been way down so demand is definitely growing. Anytime you start a new business, in a new territory, it’s going to take time to build up to the level you want it to be. Fundraising University is great though because the startup costs are low, so you can start making money almost immediately. Especially if you already have some connections with coaches, teachers, or schools. So you can get your foot in the door, right away. One of the best things about it, is that you are in control of how successful you can be. I came from a long time corporate career as a software engineer where success depended a lot more on other people and company profit rather than hard work. I finally decided that business ownership was the best way for me to take charge of my future. What attracted me to Fundraising University was the ability to work with coaches, teachers, schools, and ultimately the kids. What better way is there, to give back to the community than to help schools pay for the programs that kids love and depend on so much? I had zero experience in sales. That’s what most of the training and support is all about from Fundraising University. Fundraising University is not a “get rich quick” opportunity. It’s not a side business to dabble in for a few hours a week. But if you like the thought of helping schools and coaches, if you have a positive attitude and a teaching mentality, and you’re willing to put in the work; then this is a company that should not be overlooked. Personally, I’m glad I made the switch.”
