James Thomson

Director of Franchises
NE/SE Region

James is entering his 19th year in the fundraising industry. In 2000, he started as a fundraising rep in Connecticut and progressively grew his territory into one of the highest producing territories in the country. In 2004, he started managing other sales reps in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland. As a manager, his team doubled their sales in a three year period and produced several award winning sales representatives in a short period of time. In 2009, James co-founded National Fundraising Partners, which became home to over 40 independent sales reps. In 2011, National Fundraising Partners converted to a franchise operation under the name NFP Sports. NFP Sports became the first franchise operation of its kind in the fundraising industry but was limited to existing franchisees. NFP Sports still operates very successful franchise locations in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey but has no plans for expansion. James looks forward to bringing his skills and experience as a successful fundraising and franchise professional to the Fundraising University team. He lives in Connecticut with his wife Christina and three boys, Aidan, Evan and Alexander.
